The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting product quality through inspections, audits, data gathering, and direct collaboration with manufacturing operations. Acting as the shift contact for quality topics, this role drives the operations team in resolving quality issues and ensuring compliance with internal standards. The position has a strong focus on achieving internal goals related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost, while providing critical support to Quality and Process Engineers.
This is a first shift position, 8am - 5pm, onsite at our facility in Tallahassee.
What You’ll Be Doing
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections for incoming and in-process components; maintain accurate Quality Inspection System records.
- Use gages, tools, and measuring equipment to support inspections, including blueprint measurements of various components.
- Evaluate non-conforming products/materials; coordinate proper handling and disposition.
- Monitor manufacturing processes to assess product quality, capability, and compliance with customer and company specifications.
- Protect customers from escaped quality issues by managing containment, sorting, corrective actions, and blocking suspected parts.
- Facilitate and participate in process audits.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment using 5S techniques.
- Observe all safety rules and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience preferred).
- 1–3 years of related experience and/or training in quality or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of handheld inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gages).
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- One-year certificate from a college or technical school.
- Experience with data analytics (Capability studies, Gage R&R, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
