The SCM Analyst will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our hose manufacturing plant. This individual will provide critical support and coverage to the production scheduling, procurement, and shipping functions. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of supply chain principles and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is 100% onsite.
What You’ll Be Doing
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
Production Scheduling Support
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the master production schedule, ensuring alignment with customer demand and plant capacity.
- Collaborate with the production team to address scheduling conflicts and make real-time adjustments as needed.
- Maintain accurate data in the ERP/MRP system related to production orders, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
Procurement Support
- Assist the procurement team with the creation and management of purchase orders for raw materials, components, and MRO (maintenance, repair, and operations) supplies.
- Track the status of open purchase orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Help to resolve any receiving or invoicing discrepancies in coordination with the procurement and accounting teams.
Shipping Support
- Coordinate with the shipping department to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders.
- Assist in the preparation of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and export documents.
- Track outbound shipments and provide status updates to the customer service and sales teams.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Collect and analyze data from various sources to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for production, procurement, and shipping.
- Generate regular reports on metrics such as on-time delivery, schedule attainment, inventory levels, and freight costs.
- Maintain material master data in the SAP system, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Cost-Out Project Management:
- Identify, lead, and support cross-functional cost-out projects aimed at reducing material, logistics, and operational expenses.
- Develop project plans, establish timelines, and track progress against cost-saving targets.
- Prepare and present regular updates on cost-out project status and financial impact.
What We're Looking For
Required (basic) qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in warehousing and purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of procurement principles, including sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
- Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in rubber hose manufacturing, or similar industrial processes (strongly preferred).
- Professional certification in procurement or supply chain (e.g., CPSM, APICS).
- Experience with strategic sourcing and category management.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
