The Impact You'll Make

As a Sales Applications Engineer, you will play a key role in expanding Danfoss Drives’ presence across North America—one of our fastest‑growing regions. You’ll help customers unlock new levels of performance and energy efficiency by bringing our world‑leading Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) technologies to life in their most critical industrial applications.

You will work directly with end users, OEMs, system integrators, and channel partners to shape solutions that solve real operational challenges. Your technical expertise, customer focus, and solution mindset will help influence designs early in the process and position Danfoss as the preferred partner in key industrial verticals.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a global leader with a long history of innovation and a strong commitment to sustainability. If you enjoy working hands‑on with customers and thrive in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment, this role is for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Drive demand by understanding customer needs, influencing design decisions, and collaborating closely with Sales Development and Channel Sales teams.
  • Architect strong technical and commercial solutions through RFQ/RFI reviews and expand the Danfoss scope of supply when possible.
  • Engage directly with new and strategic industrial customers; supporting system integrators, end users, EPCs, and OEMs across the region.
  • Configure and support drive systems for customer projects and deliver compelling technical presentations to partners and stakeholders.
  • Partner with Product Management and global Application Engineering to share field feedback, launch new products, and help shape future solutions.

What We're Looking For

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent experience; an engineering background with knowledge of drives, electric motors, or automation is preferred.
  • At least 3 years in industrial automation or electrical equipment, ideally with experience selling or supporting VFDs to OEMs, integrators, or end users.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within complex teams, with strong communication and presentation skills.
  • A customer‑centric, solution‑oriented mindset, backed by analytical and problem‑solving strengths with the ability to meet customers where they are (travel up to 70%).
  • Ability to build trust quickly by understanding industrial applications and communicating effectively.

  1. We promote from within and support your learning with mentoring, training, and access to global opportunities.
  2. You’ll have flexibility, autonomy, and support to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Your well-being matters to us.
