We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior OT/IoT Engineer to join our dynamic team at Danfoss. In this role, you will be at the forefront of our digital transformation, responsible for designing, implementing and securing the operational technology (OT) and Internet of Things (IoT) infrastructure that underpins our smart manufacturing facilities. The job shall be hybrid, you can be employed in one of our locations - Grodzisk Mazowiecki, Povazska Bystrica, Sofia and Bucharest.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, Deploy, and Maintain IoT and OT Network Solutions: Develop robust and scalable network architectures for our manufacturing environments. This includes selecting, configuring and deploying industrial switches, routers, firewalls and wireless access points to connect machinery, sensors and control systems.
- Ensure Security and Reliability: Take ownership of the security and reliability of all OT/IoT devices to support seamless 24/7 production operations. Implement and manage security measures, conduct vulnerability assessments, perform patch management and develop incident response plans in line with industry standards (e.g., IEC 62443).
- Collaborate and Integrate: Act as a key liaison between the Business operations and IT departments. Collaborate closely with IT teams to ensure the secure and efficient integration of OT and IT networks, enabling seamless data flow from the factory floor to enterprise systems.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level support for all OT/IoT network-related issues. Diagnose and resolve complex network and device connectivity problems to minimize production downtime.
- Documentation and Standards: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network architecture, device configurations, and operational procedures. Contribute to the development of global standards and best practices for OT/IoT at Danfoss.
- Innovation and Improvement: Stay current with the latest advancements in industrial networking, IoT, and cybersecurity. Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, security and performance of our OT infrastructure.
- Change management: close collaboration with business/production stakeholders. Ability to travel across Danfoss locations (approx. 10% of yearly time) .
What We're Looking For
Technical background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in an OT/ICS environment, with a focus on industrial network design and administration.
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/IP, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, OPC-UA).
- Proven experience with industrial network hardware (e.g., Aruba, Hirschmann, Cisco, Siemens).
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for OT environments.
- Strong English language skills.
