The Impact You'll Make

As our new Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll help shape the future of Turbocor compressor technology—designing high-performance solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. Your work will directly influence next-generation products used in commercial HVAC/R systems around the world.
 
You’ll translate ideas into engineered solutions by leading integrated compressor designs from concept through validation. Along the way, you’ll collaborate across disciplines to ensure every design performs in real-world conditions and meets customer expectations.
 
By contributing to long-term technology roadmaps, you’ll play a key role in advancing Danfoss’ leadership in climate solutions and innovation, helping customers reduce energy use and environmental impact.
 
This is an onsite position, located in Tallahassee, Florida at the Turbocor Compressor global headquarters.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design and integrate compressor systems to deliver reliable, high-performance products ready for production
  • Run simulations and engineering analyses (stress, thermal, vibration, fluid flow) to validate designs and improve performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers to ensure manufacturability, cost efficiency, and quality outcomes
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation (CAD models, drawings, DFMEAs, specifications) to ensure design accuracy and traceability
  • Lead and contribute to design reviews and mentorship to strengthen technical decisions and support team development

 

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in mechanical design of rotating equipment (e.g., compressors, HVAC/R systems, or similar)
  • Bachelors or post-graduate degree in mechanical, mechetronics, aerospace or aero-thermal engineering or equivilent
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (such as NX, SolidWorks, or CATIA) and engineering analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB)
  • Solid understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and GD&T/tolerance analysis
  • Proven ability to solve complex engineering challenges and deliver designs from concept through validation
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional engineering environments
