We are looking for a motivated Summer Trainee - System Engineering to join our diverse R&D team in one of our sites in Finland, with strong preference on our Lappeenranta site.
What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will support the definition, design, integration, and validation of electric drivetrain system components. You will be working closely with senior system engineers, as well as experts in various adjacent domains. In this role you’re taking part in the following activities:
- Assist in defining and documenting system requirements for inverters and chargers.
- Maintain and update requirement databases and support requirement traceability activities.
- Maintain and update system architecture design diagrams and related technical documentation.
- Support system integration activities, including hardware and software interfaces.
- Participate in supporting the system validation and testing, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and standards.
- Collaborate and coordinate with cross-functional teams including software, hardware, mechanical, and testing engineers.
- Learn and apply Danfoss Editron engineering processes, tools, and quality standards
What We're Looking For
- Ongoing studies in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s level).
- Basic understanding of power electronics, electric machines, and control systems. Knowledge specifically of power electronic converters’ structure or software is seen as a bonus.
- Familiarity with engineering tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, requirement management software) is an advantage.
- Eagerness to learn, problem-solving mindset, and ability to work in an international team environment. Good oral and written communication skills in English.

Salary range for our Summer Trainees is €2200 - €2860 per month based on the level of studies and study points.
