The System Application Engineer Incubation is a senior, customer-facing applications engineering role that provides the hands-on technical layer of the Data Center Incubation Front-End team. This person will provide the deep technical applications expertise required to translate Danfoss subsystem capabilities into specific customer deployments, to support proof-of-concept and qualification activities, and to resolve technical questions arising at the customer interface.
The System Application Engineer Incubation provides technical coverage within his dedicated region and works closely with Incubation business development, product and system engineering teams as well as with BU account managers.
Success is defined by deep and proactive customer engagement across key accounts, supported by strong subject matter expertise in data centre thermal management and liquid cooling applications. The role consistently delivers timely PoCs and qualifications, effectively translating system requirements into engineering execution while ensuring rapid resolution of technical issues with high field responsiveness. It also contributes directly to new business wins and drives growth by delivering results under challenging conditions through strong cross-functional collaboration and ownership.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, supporting deployment, integration, and application of liquid cooling subsystems across hyperscalers, chip makers, and OEMs.
- Translate product capabilities into end-to-end customer solutions, driving system architecture discussions, design reviews, and integration workshops.
- Lead and support proof-of-concept (PoC) and qualification activities, ensuring successful validation and adoption of new technologies in customer environments.
- Partner closely with engineering and product teams as the voice of the customer, bringing real-world insights into design, validation, and product improvements.
- Drive technical problem-solving and business outcomes, supporting RFQs, resolving field issues, and contributing to new business wins.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Thermal, Chemical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 6–10 years of experience in applications engineering, system engineering, or customer-facing technical roles, ideally in data centre or thermal management environments.
- Strong expertise in fluid systems and liquid cooling technologies (e.g., pumps, heat exchangers, manifolds, valves) and ability to translate system requirements into practical solutions.
- Proven track record in supporting customer engagements, PoCs, and product qualification programmes in complex technical environments.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to operate in global, customer-facing environments.
