Job Description
Danfoss Power Electronics and Drives is looking for a Development Engineer who will be contributing to Danfoss’ strong market position and help gain competitive advantage. If you are open-minded, have both theoretical and practical experience of new product development, and you are a professional in functional safety, then you might be the right person for us. You will be part of a dedicated development team, where your technical knowledge is the key. A challenging job awaits you in an international environment, where you will develop yourself technically as well as personally.
As a Development Engineer your main task is to support functional safety concept definition, validation, and maintenance. This includes requirement specification engineering, validation phase management, realization co-ordination and co-operation with authorities and other development units.
You will be working closely with our product management and development teams in Finland and other global R&D units when developing new products.

Job Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
• Maintain and expand functional safety capabilities in the existing products
• Functional safety requirement management
• Functional safety development
• Functional safety verification and validation support
• Assist in the certification process
• Give support to the organization about safety functions
Background & Skills
Your experience:
• Appropriate technical degree (B.Sc., M.Sc.) in electrical engineering.
• A few years of experience in similar or corresponding tasks in our industry
• Knowledge of IEC 61508 or related functional safety standards
• Willingness to work in this area and develop your expertise in functional safety engineering
• Good written and spoken English and preferably also Finnish
• Good communication skills inside the global organization and to authorization bodies
• Good documentation skills
In addition, you are good in prioritizing things. You are resilient and can deal with complexity. You are a fast learner with the ability to adapt to changes. Technical background in AC drives and related technologies are an asset.
