Job Description
The Assembler is responsible for basic assembly work to assemble parts to create a quality product. Assemblers use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatic tools to successfully carry out production. This position may require manual assembly and/or operation of equipment such as simple presses, washers, and label makers. Assemblers work on dynamic lines with teammates to assemble products. Assemblers need to maintain a safe and secure work environment.
Starting Pay: $19.17/hour + 1.15 shift differential, scheduled increases for the first 18 months
$2,000 sign-on bonus
Job Responsibilities
- Use routing and operating instructions (or drawings/specifications) to ensure proper set up and/or assembly of units.
- Adjust, fit, and align units to tight tolerances (+/- 0.00001) and inspection standards.
- Perform filing or sanding of parts as needed (deburring operation).
- Perform visual inspection of unit during and after the assembly process.
- Perform rework on rejected units.
- Prepare and support packaging of units for shipping.
- Use site ERP system (i.e. MFGPro, Web Labor) to perform transactions as necessary.
- Support training new hires/transfers as needed.
- Demonstrate teamwork, communication and positive work attitude on the job.
- Take lead in troubleshooting assembly issues encountered on the assembly line.
- Support plant safety, quality, and lean/continuous improvement efforts, including performing routine housekeeping/5S+ activities.
- Demonstrate the Danfoss Leadership Model, Danfoss Ethics, and comply with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies as applicable.
- Perform all other duties as required by lead and supervisors.
Background & Skills
Minimum Qualifications (Required to perform the job duties listed):
- High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Use simple arithmetic, drawings, specifications, and measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret operating instructions and/or blueprints to assemble parts.
- Ability to perform self-directed work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to interact positively with other employees in a team-oriented environment.
