Danfoss is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team.  The Customer Service Representative will be responsible for delivering an exceptional level of customer support and will work hand in hand with our Supply Chain, and other key departments.  If you’re looking to join a dynamic, global company that’s truly making a tremendous impact on the lives of people in our ever-changing world, you’re exactly what Danfoss is looking for.  This position will operate out of our Ames, IA location. 

Job Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. 

 

  • Serves as the primary order contact for the customer.
  • Timely correspondence with customers via email and phone regarding product availability, delivery status, and order status.
  • Establishes and maintains effective communication of information to Account Managers, Sales Specialist, OFRs and other team members as needed, including internal and external customers.
  • Manage customer expectations and provide information to the customer. Escalates issues when appropriate.
  • Serves as an advisor to the customer and offers suggestions and support based on customer needs.  Helps solve problems and answers order questions.
  • Manages customer orders, and ensures orders are processed completely, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates with operations planners any changes in customer requirements, new products, and phase out of existing products.
  • Promoting quality and continuous improvement.
  • Creation or updating of standard work materials to drive the most efficient process of servicing our customers.
  • Supports sales & marketing with customer master data maintenance.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

 

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a customer service role preferably in the manufacturing industry
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), attention to detail, and strong organization skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT etc.)  
  • Familiarity with SAP software is a plus
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Team player who can foster positive working relationships including virtual team members
  • Customer service mentality, ability to build customer trust and rapport
  • Time management with the ability to be flexible and open to change
