Job Summary

The Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Lead Specialist is responsible for the execution and continuous improvement of the S&OP process within the Fluid Conveyance division.  As the S&OP function and process ensures alignment between Materials, Operations, Sales, Product Management, and Finance, the Lead Specialist will lead those projects and drive those tasks which ensure that:
 

  • Assets (materials/capacity) are positioned to meet business projections and growth goals.
  • Our production and inventory footprints are optimized to drive value globally.
  • Tools and models are in place to efficiently analyze and identify opportunities for improvement, supported by a robust data culture.

Job Description

  • The Lead Specialist will drive cross-functional alignment between Materials, Finance, Sales & Marketing, Product Management and Operations to ensure plants have visibility of demand, including strategic growth plans, that capacity/supply plans are well-defined in service of that demand, and that Sales and Product Management have the visibility of operations they need to make targeted decisions.
  • The Lead Specialist will drive alignment between the S&OP forecast, the MRP forecast, the Master Schedules, and the Production plans across regions and globally.  The S&OP Lead will work closely with the other global team members to ensure that the ABCQ, PFEP, and Replenishment plans are aligned and supporting S&OP.
  • The Lead Specialist will assist various project teams focused on strategic initiatives including (but not limited to) value stream mapping and production footprint changes.  The Lead Specialist is required to co-lead at least one production footprint change project and serve as subject matter expert on another.
  • The Lead Specialist will contribute to setting and driving the strategy for the S&OP function to align with organization’s strategy to drive value.
  • The Lead Specialist will lead projects aimed at maturing our data culture, including developing business intelligence models within Power BI, building key data sets, and engaging regularly with stakeholders to incorporate user needs into those models.  This ensures that our strategic decisions are always backed by data-driven business cases that are scalable, repeatable, thoroughly validated, and clearly documented.

Background & Skills

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, or business administration.
  • Five years of post-collegiate experience in supply chain management, operations, procurement, or data analysis.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or other graduate-level degree with an operations or supply chain concentration.
  • Seven years of experience within supply chain, procurement, operations, or data analysis.  Experience within a manufacturing facility and/or global operations a plus.
  • Track record of project management.
  • Track record of development within business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc).  Power BI preferred.
  • CPIM, CSCP or equivalent certification.

  • Able to think creatively and proactively; and build a body of practical technical knowledge independently and quickly as needed to accomplish tasks.
