Job Description

 

Danfoss is currently hiring for a Plant Controller at our state-of-the-art Eden Prairie facility.  The Plant Controller is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the Financial department and the various systems within.  The Plant Controller will maintain knowledge of all financial and inventory details and provide information, primarily financial in nature, about all facility activities that will assist management, its shareholders, and other users in making educated economic decisions about the company’s future. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Establish and implement accounting policies and procedures that safeguard the company assets
  • Investigate problem situations.  Design and implement effective solutions
  • Manage the profit plan process at the plant level
  • Control and coordinate the physical inventory process
  • Support and manage plant accounting team
  • Analyze plant monthly financial results and prepare commentary for Divisional personnel
  • Conduct and/or attend meetings which affect accounting systems
  • Complete special projects as assigned to support plant strategic goals and improvements
  • Provide analysis and support of plant manufacturing and administrative activities to meet profit plan goals, commitments and timelines 
  • Drive actions, establish and maintain process in support of DBS criteria and initiatives
  • Supervise, guide, direct, and develop the accounting team.  Define competencies required for successful performance and ensure that employees receive appropriate motivation, recognition, and training development opportunities for continuing career growth
  • Model the Danfoss ethical conduct policy, and comply with all other corporate, plant, and regulatory policies and regulations as applicable

Education Required

  • BS degree in Accounting or Finance.

 

Education Preferred

  • Masters in Business Administration or related field.
  • CPA
     

Experience Required

  • Five years experience as an accountant in manufacturing setting.
  • Experience controlling and coordinating the profit planning process at a plant level.
  • Experience with the physical inventory process.

 

Experience Preferred

  • Has conducted interviews, performance evaluations, merit increases, personnel development and training of department personnel.
  • Successful establishment and implementation accounting policies and procedures that safeguard company assets.
  • 1-2 years of experience managing subordinates (schedule, delegate and review work).
