Job Description

This role maintains the quality control processes, systems and documentation for one of the plant value streams - including receiving, work in process, finished product inspection and testing procedures. The SQE is also responsible for the quality control aspects of manufacturing processes, including in-process inspections. SQEs have direct contact with final customers regarding new part/product launches, quality issues, and product performance.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Have a thorough understanding of quality systems. Assist in developing the quality department's goals and objectives, policies and procedures, and budget. Prepare management reports on quality metrics to understand trends and drive actions.
  • Implement local, divisional, and corporate policies to meet the needs of the plant.
  • Responsible for using quality tools, statistical analysis, carrying out root cause analysis, process capability studies, implementing preventive actions, creating control plans, and applying mistake-proofing methodologies.
  • Maintain and improve inspection processes and methodologies to be more representative of the quality of products. Utilize working knowledge of GD&T and Measurement System Analysis Interface with manufacturing, product engineering, suppliers, and other cross functional teams.
  • Provide for control and disposition of discrepant material through the plant material review board.
  • Provide support in customer problems as situations occur.  Support product return failure analysis and corrective actions. Work with customers on approval of PPAPs, communicate the changes and work closely to address voice of the customer.
  • Communicate quality issues to front line leaders, factory personnel, and supply base. Assist them with containment, root cause, and permanent corrective actions.
  • Manage warranty technicians to ensure timely and accurate evaluation of returned units

Carry out internal audits, support external audits, participate in continuous improvement projects, support lean and safety initiatives, and implement Danfoss Business System

Background & Skills

Required (basic) qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with ISO 9001 certified manufacturing operations, and a knowledgeable understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Specifications, and Quality System Knowledge (e.g. ISO 9001).
  • 1 years of experience managing or leading people.
  • 3 years of experience in industrial manufacturing as a manufacturing engineer / quality engineer or in a production supervisory role.
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certified
  • Quality Control experience in industrial job shop manufacturing including the use of ISO 9001 procedures such as Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Advanced Product Quality Planning process (APQP), Design and Process FMEA and Statistical Process Control, and Capability (SPC), and Corrective Action and Preventative Action (CAPA)
