Job Description

Danfoss is seeking an enthusiastic Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our diverse team. You will lead source teams, analysts and other project teams to secure contractual agreements to meet business needs; you will lead supplier simplification and execution on activities to optimize productivity and quality and fulfillment through strategic supplier relationships.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Leading development/execution of strategic sourcing initiatives for direct materials and services to ensure optimal quality, cost productivity, fulfillment. Proactively and routinely drive spend analysis activities identifying strategic sourcing opportunities within assigned categories.
  • Participating in new product development projects and be the link between our NPD teams, Planning team and suppliers. 
  • Identifying, visualizing and mitigating potential risks.
  • Working closely with Global Category Managers and Global Supplier Quality, design and execute projects while meeting quality and cost goals.
  • Preparing various timely reports including cost savings, cost increases, quote/project analysis.
  • Assisting with the transition from a decentralized to a centralized indirect procurement function; prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals and vendor agreements.
  • Developing both short and long-term strategy discussions concerning applicable direct materials and services.
  • Placing orders for PPAP and prototype activities.

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills: 

  • Bachelor´s or master’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business management or equivalent is required.
  • 4+ years’ experience with strategic sourcing or supply chain. Experience may be gained concurrently.
  • Ability to create relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple functions (R&D, Product Management, Supply Chain).
  • Outstanding communication and cooperation skills with ability to challenge stakeholders.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical GD&T preferred.
  • Experience in castings, electronics, and motor commodities a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of PPAP and APQP a plus.
  • Experience in SAP strongly preferred.
