Job Description

Danfoss is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join its Forest City, NC Operations team. This role will design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes to facilitate cost reductions and continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Engineer will be accountable for all engineering-related concerns in their assigned work cell(s) and provides support to other work cells and projects as needed. 

 

The Manufacturing Engineer will work daily in our Forest City, NC facility and report to the Engineering Manager. Relocation support for this position is available. However, support for any type of work authorization cannot be provided.
 

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

 

  • Establishes, maintains, and periodically audits (product standards and specifications, bills of material and process routers, hazard identifications, process FMEAs).
  • Establishes, analyzes, and achieves targets for projects related to customer product design, problem-solving activities, process improvement, cost reductions.
  • Serves as owner of the following for his/her assigned work cell(s):  product prototypes, samples and cost estimates; introduction of new or revised product and process; process development and capital project; work cell value-stream map(s) and process FMEA(’s); physical asset inventories. 
  • Serves as member, support and/or lead of various teams/functions (supplier and/or material evaluations; continuous improvement events; customer product development; safety and quality improvement; problem solving.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required
  • Possess some working experience in a manufacturing environment. A minimum of 2 years is preferred
  • Possess computer/software proficiency including MS Office Applications and AutoCAD
  • Working knowledge and application of Lean Manufacturing tools and concepts
  • Working experience with SAP and/or ERP system knowledge is preferred
  • Proven project management and problem-solving abilities
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship both now and in the future
