Job Description
We have an immediate opportunity for a 3rd Shift Heat Treat Operator to join us at our diverse team in Freeport. The heat treat operator is responsible for making sure that all parts are processed correctly
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.
· Making sure part number is correct, verifying the process with the process print before, during, and after the heat treat operation.
· The heat treat operator must not deviate from documented processes without authorization such as an engineer change, process change, or confirmation from the Team Leader.
· Racking and Un-racking parts, filling out all paperwork correctly which may involve entry into computer, making sure parts are processed with the correct cycles, times, and temperatures.
· Perform all required metallurgical tests such as case depth verification, hardness, and microstructure.
· All procedures must be followed without exception. May use fork trucks, electric and hand trucks, or hoists to perform tasks
Background & Skills
The ideal candidate possesses these skills.
· High School graduate or equivalent certificate and minimum of 1-year experience desired
· Mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes
· Working knowledge of quality/problem solving tools (PPAP, Capability studies, PFMEA, Gauge R&R, 4-Step, 8D, Fishbone)
· Computer skills, (Microsoft Office, PLC, test stand)
· Ability to read and understand hydraulic & electrical schematics
· Familiarity with TPM and SMED techniques
· Customer Service mindset and the ability to stay calm under pressure are necessary traits
· Outstanding safety record and approach to behavioral based safety using proper PPE are requirements
