Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for a 3rd Shift Machinist ​to join us at our diverse team in Freeport, IL. The Machinist operates and setups of conventional, numerical control (NC), and special purpose, machines and machining centers to machine steel and brass components. Danfoss is offering a $2500.00 sign-on bonus for new Machinist. 1/2 paid after 90 days and the other 1/2 after 6 months! 

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Demonstrates a commitment to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.  Follows safety regulations and actively contributes to work safety. 

  • Follows all standard work, control plans, all processes and quality guidelines.  Must be able to operate multiple machines.  

  • Evaluates situations objectively and demonstrates the ability to make timely decisions that are intended to have a positive effect on work performance. 

  • Organizes and prioritizes work assignments to complete assignments/tasks on time, with quality, and can anticipate problem areas in advance.  

  • Applies creative approaches and ideas to solve problems maximizing effective use of appropriate resources. Perform all Total Productive Environment (TPE) activities as required. Possess appropriate personal tools as required.

  • High school diploma/(GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
