The Impact You'll Make
As a Power Electronics Engineer at Danfoss, you will help shape the next generation of variable speed drive solutions within our Automation Drives business.
Working alongside experienced engineers across multiple disciplines, you will turn innovative concepts into reliable, energy-efficient products that support customers around the world. Your work will contribute directly to electrification, energy efficiency, and the technologies that help industries operate more sustainably.
This is an opportunity to apply and expand your expertise in power electronics while solving meaningful engineering challenges. Whether you are an early-career engineer or bring a few years of experience, you will play an important role in delivering solutions that create value for our customers and help engineer a better future.
What You’ll Be Doing
As part of a collaborative engineering team, you'll contribute throughout the product development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, validation, and continuous improvement. This will include:
- Design, simulate, prototype, test, and validate power electronic solutions for next-generation variable speed drives.
- Develop and optimize converter topologies, power stages, magnetic components, switch-mode power supplies (SMPS), thermal solutions, and EMC-compliant designs.
- Perform hands-on laboratory work including prototype testing, troubleshooting, measurements, and validation of power electronic circuits.
- Explore and apply emerging technologies, including advanced power semiconductor technologies, to improve product performance, efficiency, and reliability.
- Collaborate with colleagues across systems, hardware, software, mechanical engineering, supply chain, and procurement to deliver solutions that meet customer and business needs.
You'll also contribute to design reviews, verification and reliability activities, root cause analysis, functional safety considerations, and knowledge sharing across the engineering community.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges, collaborates well with others, and is motivated to learn and grow within power electronics development.
- Master's degree in Power Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience ranging from newly graduated to a few years within power electronics, drives, inverters, converters, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of one or more areas such as converter design, magnetics, SMPS, EMC, thermal design, or functional safety.
- Experience with simulation tools such as PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, LTspice, or similar.
- Strong problem-solving skills, a structured approach to engineering challenges, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
Experience with laboratory equipment, reliability engineering, DFMEA, design verification, Design for Manufacturing (DfM), or wide-bandgap semiconductor technologies such as Silicon Carbide (SiC) is considered an advantage.
We know no one brings every skill or experience listed here. If you have a strong technical foundation, curiosity, and enthusiasm for power electronics, we'd love to hear from you.
