The Impact You'll Make
Do you enjoy building strong supplier relationships, solving supply chain challenges, and finding smarter ways to manage purchasing processes? Would you like to see how your decisions directly impact manufacturing operations in an international company?
At Danfoss, we're looking for a Category Buyer to join our procurement team in Grodzisk Mazowiecki on a fixed-term replacement contract until the end of May 2028.
In this role, you'll support direct procurement activities across the entire product lifecycle, working closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams, engineering, quality, and procurement colleagues across Europe. From coordinating material changes, supplier onboarding, and PPAPs to ensuring material availability, supplier performance, and accurate procurement data, you'll play a key role in maintaining a resilient and efficient supply chain.
You'll join a collaborative, international environment where your ideas, initiative, and ability to build relationships can make a real difference.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage day-to-day direct procurement activities, working with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support production requirements, material availability, and purchasing needs.
- Execute and coordinate Material Change Management processes, ensuring timely implementation of engineering changes and new component introductions.
- Request and negotiate quotations, pricing, and commercial conditions for new components and supplier changes.
- Coordinate supplier PPAP activities and manage supplier readiness for project launches, engineering changes, and product lifecycle transitions.
- Lead procurement activities related to project ramp-ups and ramp-downs, ensuring smooth implementation of new products and phase-out of existing ones.
- Support supplier onboarding according to Danfoss standards, including trade compliance requirements and supplier setup processes.
- Monitor material availability and act as the second escalation point for supply-related issues involving logistics and quality.
- Maintain accurate procurement master data in SAP and ensure high-quality supplier and purchasing information.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field.
- Around 1-5 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, category management, or supplier development, preferably within an international manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with supplier PPAPs, engineering changes, project implementation, or material change management is an advantage.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence both suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- A proactive, well-organized, and solution-oriented mindset, capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Good analytical skills and the ability to work with procurement data and performance metrics.
- Good command of English and confidence working with ERP systems and procurement tools. Experience with SAP is an advantage.
Don't meet every single requirement? We'd still love to hear from you! We know that valuable experience comes in different forms. If you're interested in procurement and believe you could contribute to our team, we encourage you to apply, even if your background doesn't match every point.
What You'll Get from Us
- Fixed-term opportunity until the end of May 2028, offering hands-on experience in an international procurement environment.
- Hybrid working model: 3 days per week in our Grodzisk Mazowiecki office and 2 days working remotely, along with flexible working hours.
- Professional growth and international collaboration through daily interaction with experienced procurement professionals, suppliers, and cross-functional teams across Europe.
- Benefits package including annual bonus, pension plan (PPE), private medical care, life and personal insurance, and co-financing of a Multisport or Medicover Sport card, plus subsidized meals in our on-site company canteen.
- A supportive and inclusive culture where continuous improvement, learning, and innovation are encouraged.
