Within Danfoss Drives, we are looking for a Business Developer – HVAC/R to develop and grow business across Italy by promoting Danfoss variable speed drives and new product solutions as specified and preferred components within HVAC/R and related industrial applications.
A key focus of the role is creating and driving technical prescription of Danfoss solutions in new projects and platforms, working upstream with consultants, end users, designers, system integrators and OEMs, ensuring Danfoss products are designed-in and referenced from early project phases.
The role is strongly oriented toward new market development, new customer acquisition, and influencing product choices in applications where HVAC/R technologies play a critical role in efficiency, sustainability, comfort, and process performance.
The ideal profile is a proactive, business- and technically-oriented professional with strong HVAC/R knowledge, experience in structured B2B environments, and the ability to act as a trusted technical-commercial partner. A hunter mindset combined with the capability to drive specification and prescription is essential to succeed in this role.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop new business opportunities in the HVAC/R and industrial markets, focusing on new customer acquisition, application development, and strategic projects, while managing key existing accounts.
- Drive the technical specification and promotion of Danfoss drives and solutions by engaging End Users, consultants, contractors, designers, and system integrators during the early project phases.
- Position Danfoss products as preferred solutions within customer platforms, tenders, technical standards, and specifications, supporting the market introduction of new and strategic products.
- Lead and monitor sales and business development activities across Italy, ensuring strong market coverage, pipeline generation, and execution of commercial and specification strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Business Development, Marketing, Technical Support) to develop technical proposals, support quotations, analyze market intelligence, and achieve sales, margin, and customer satisfaction targets.
What We're Looking For
- Educational background in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical education.
- Proven experience in a commercial or business development role within HVAC/R, industrial automation, or technical B2B environments.
- Strong understanding of HVAC/R applications and variable speed drive technology, with the ability to translate technical value into customer benefits.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills, with a clear results-driven and hunter mindset.
- Fluent in English and Italian, both written and spoken.
