The Impact You'll Make
Be responsible for process development of global new product prototypes, compilation of CNC machining solutions, on-site technical support during trial production, and analysis of defective samples. Resolve technical challenges covering the entire machining and assembly workflow, and deliver standardized trial production process documents.
What You’ll Be Doing
New Product Process & Drawing Development
- Review 2D/3D drawings, conduct DFM analysis, identify manufacturing risks in machining, assembly, mass production and cost, and propose design optimization solutions.
- Develop prototype manufacturing processes for precision metal parts, including 5-axis and sliding head lathe machining, tooling, cutting parameters, fixtures, surface treatment and assembly SOPs.
- Compile process sheets, fixture drawings, inspection standards, prototype BOMs and machining hour evaluations.
On-site Trial Production & Machining Optimization
- Track prototype trial production on 5-axis turn-mill centers and sliding head lathes; guide program debugging, fixture setup and cutting parameter optimization.
- Troubleshoot dimensional deviation, part deformation, burrs, tool chatter and surface quality issues, and implement corrective actions to reduce scrap rate.
- Design simple fixtures for high-precision and special-shaped parts to improve machining efficiency.
Assembly Process Planning & Prototype Validation
- Plan assembly processes, define assembly sequences, torque, sealing standards and fixtures, and issue SOPs.
- Supervise on-site assembly and resolve fit clearance, assembly interference, seal leakage and precision defects.
- Support first article inspection, verify dimensional accuracy and assembly performance, and record trial production deviation data.
Defect Analysis & Process Continuous Improvement
- Conduct 8D analysis on prototype scrap, dimensional defects and delivery delays, identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Establish standardized machining processes and cutting parameter databases to unify processing schemes and shorten development cycles.
- Optimize tooling, fixtures and equipment solutions to reduce machining hours and consumable costs.
Technical Documentation Management & On-site Training
- Archive process documents, drawings, inspection reports and improvement records, and maintain a prototype manufacturing knowledge base.
- Provide on-site training on 5-axis programming, precision clamping and complex part machining.
- Support personnel capability assessment, project hour estimation and process cycle data maintenance.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical Manufacturing, CNC Technology, Precision Machinery, Mold Design or related majors.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in precision component prototype processing with 5-axis machines and sliding head lathes. Candidates with new product sampling experience are preferred.
- Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and GD&T; skilled in SolidWorks, UG/Gibbs CAM and other 3D software; CNC programming capability is preferred.
- Familiar with 5-axis turn-mill and sliding head lathe machining processes, and the cutting properties of common materials including stainless steel, aluminum alloy and copper. Equipped with professional knowledge of prototype assembly, tolerance matching, surface treatment and CMM inspection; proficient in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, dial indicators and height gauges.
- Familiar with quality tools including APQP, FMEA and 8D, capable of independent defect analysis.
- Able to understand English engineering drawings and communicate technical requirements with overseas R&D teams.
