The Impact You'll Make

The Specialist Manufacturing Engineer – Data Center Incubation is responsible for enabling the early industrialization of new products, technologies, and manufacturing concepts within the Data Center team. The role translates innovation concepts into robust, manufacturable, and scalable production solutions and supports the transfer of validated processes into serial production at Danfoss manufacturing sites.
This position serves as a global manufacturing subject matter expert, working across incubation projects to support defining manufacturing concepts, leads new process introduction, and ensure readiness for successful scale-up. The role is expected to balance innovation with practical manufacturability, quality, cost, and operational feasibility.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Define and develop initial manufacturing process concepts, production flows, and layout principles for new products and technologies under incubation. Support industrialization activities from early concept phase through pilot builds, validation, and launch readiness.
  • Translate product and technology concepts into practical manufacturing solutions with a clear path to scale. Assess manufacturability risks early and recommend appropriate design, process, or equipment changes. Support new product design from DFM/DFA standpoint.
  • Introduce new manufacturing processes, technologies, and equipment in production plant. Lead or support process validation, capability studies, pilot runs, and ramp-up activities and provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support during early implementation and stabilization phases.
  • Design and optimize manufacturing processes with focus on quality, safety, cost efficiency, global scalability and cycle time optimation. Identify and implement opportunities to improve yield, throughput, and productivity using data-driven analysis.
  • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methods to improve process performance and reduce waste and capture and share lessons learned and best practices across incubation projects and manufacturing locations.
  • Work closely with R&D, Product Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and plant engineering teams as the key manufacturing interface between the Incubation team and serial production sites. Support structured handover of validated manufacturing concepts, process parameters, documentation, and risk assessments into operations.
  • Share experience of manufacturing processes and new technologies with broader Data center team and act as role model for defining and optimizing new manufacturing processes.

1.Focus on system and sub-system assembly and validation for example for rack manifolds
2.Close collaboration with suppliers to define and optimize appropriate manufacturing processes
3.Laying out production related testing process for small batch pre-production as well as high volume production quantities
4.Automating assembly processes for high volume production processes

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
  • Several years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, industrialization, process engineering, or new product introduction in a global industrial environment.
  • Experience supporting transfer from development or pilot environment into serial production.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production layouts, validation methods, and process capability.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to work across functions, regions, and manufacturing sites in a matrix environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, project coordination, and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally on a frequent basis.
