Functional Safety Manager and Quality Expert (EDFI)

Danfoss is looking for a strong candidate to fill an important position as Functional Safety Manager and Quality Expert. You will be part of a global Danfoss Quality and Business process organization and you will be located at our Lappeenranta site in Finland. In this position you will be responsible for the Functional Safety Project Management in selected development projects. You will implement processes from ISO 26262 into Systems, Hardware and Software projects and drive the introduction of the Danfoss quality processes into local development projects. You will also lead the Safety Culture growth in the organization by following the ISO 26262 standard. Furthermore, your areas of responsibility will be to: 
 
  • Perform safety activities in development project according to ISO 26262 requirements
  • Execute safety assessments, audits and reviews
  • Act as a Functional Safety interface with customers and certification bodies
  • Manage and review safety requirements in Requirements Managements systems
  • Ensure Safety Verification and Validation activities
  • Drive continuous improvement as member of a global Quality and Business process team
  • Manage and/or develop work products like Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments, Safety Concepts, ASIL assignments/decomposition, Functional Safety Management Plans, Safety Requirements, FMEDCAs, SFMEAs
 
Additional tasks and responsibilities can be in scope throughout related team skills constellations.

Background and skills
To be successful in this position, we expect you to have several years of experience in Project Management and functional safety development process in accordance with ISO 26262. Also 5+ years of experience with design for functional safety or equivalent qualifier such as Software Quality Assurance background is highly appreciated. Understanding of IEC 61508, ISO 13849 or comparable standards are considered as assets and you have degree in either Software or Electrical Engineering. What we are also looking for is strong knowledge of Hazard Analysis, Risk Assessment and Requirements management software tool. You have excellent communicational skills and can communicate effortlessly in Finnish and English, both verbal and written. Other than that, it could be beneficial for you to have:
 
  • Experience in functional safety development for automotive industry, automotive embedded systems development and tools like Polarion, MS Azure and Medini 
  • Knowledge and execution of software quality processes (e.g. CMMI, Automotive SPICE)
  • Detailed knowledge of hybrid powertrain, energy storage subsystems and control systems
  • Experience with vehicle systems, torque security, high-voltage safety, cyber security, encryption and with AUTOSAR
