Job Description

Are you ready to seize a new opportunity within Danfoss? If so, then you might be our new Industrial Heat Pump System Engineering Leader (IHPSE).

In this role, you will contribute to developing future climate friendly solutions and technologies for the Industrial Heat Pump Segment. The position requires an important amount of heat pump system expertise and relevant market knowledge to effectively generate ideas & concepts and convert them into projects.

The role of the IHPSE is to help develop our Heat Pump solutions portfolio & be responsible for an effective idea generation, from workshops to concept and project execution. The position requires capability to work in a matrix environment with the different product lines of Danfoss.

You will report to the program director of Heat Pump & Functional Modularization and work closely with the Engineering Team from the different product line entities.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

 

  • Primary focus on industrial heat pump (whatever type of technology, HFO, CO2 or Ammonia Heat Pump) component roadmap creation.

  • Market investigation of industrial Heat Pump technology above 90°C process temperature.

  • Determine Danfoss roadmaps in the industrial market above 90°C for the years to come.

  • Focus on idea generation of optimized modules & optimized sub-systems with the support of the Danfoss product portfolio for Industrial Heat Pumps.

  • Engage with the market and the customers to adapt concept to the latest market requirements and trends.

  • Identify cross-divisional opportunities for development and selling solutions & modules into heat pumps market.

  • Drive module & sub-system specification for cross product lines engineering to go from ideas to concept.

  • Support & lead the ideation process (workshops, customer meetings) to deliver pre-M0 projects.

  • Initiate and coordinate Heat Pump & Functional Modularization offering roadmap, prepare comprehensive proposals & rationales for the program director.

  • Interact with divisions and functions within the DCS segment matrix, align on opportunities, concepts and product development initiatives.

  • Regularly coordinate with key stakeholder across Danfoss Divisions (Product lines engineering resources, Danfoss Climate Sales & field service engineering, segment marketing…).

  • Be an active member of the Danfoss Heat Pump community to improve our understanding of this application, to promote and execute the Heat Pump strategy.

  • Participate in select industry trade associations, expositions, conferences, and symposia. Leverage these associations for networking and relationship-building to improve influence and raise Danfoss brand awareness within Heat Pump application.

Background & Skills

  • Master’s degree in relevant field in thermodynamical engineering

  • 7-10 years of work experience in designing industrial heat pump or industrial refrigeration systems

  • Strong technical knowledge of CO2/Ammonia systems.

  • Being opened to other field of technologies (i.e. HFOs)

  • Experience in projects and drive decisions within cross-functional set-up and large stakeholder environment

  • Demonstrated marketing skills with the ability to think strategically and to present market vision/strategy effectively to the organization/stakeholders.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit, customer-driven, with a sales and growth mindset

  • Excellent problem-solving skills; strong commitment to achieving objectives

  • Organized, structured and resilient, proactive & self-driven

  • Team player with capacity to work with and through others in a global matrix organization

  • Ability and willingness to Travel up to 30%, domestically and internationally

  • Scope of the position is global (primary focus is Europe, then China).

  • Experience leading performance optimization projects for HVAC/R subsystems/functions would be added advantage

  • Fluent and comprehensive English
