The Impact You'll Make

At Danfoss Sensing Solutions, we are establishing a state-of-the-art manufacturing site in Sofia to produce our latest generation sensor technologies. To support our continued growth, we are looking for a Lead Product Engineer to take technical ownership of products manufactured at the Sofia site.

As Lead Product Engineer, you will serve as a key technical interface between the Sofia manufacturing site, global engineering functions, and our other Danfoss production sites. You will ensure products remain compliant, manufacturable, and competitive while supporting operational excellence and growth.

While this is a senior individual role, it also offers a unique pathway to management as you provide technical leadership and guidance to the Sofia product engineering team. You will help align priorities across local engineering activities and serve as the primary point of contact for communicating engineering topics and escalations to your direct manager.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Lead Product Engineer, you will use your expertise to:

• Become the technical owner for our latest sensor products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance from our new site
• Serve as the crucial link between the local team and global engineering functions, creating transparency on local tasks to ensure alignment with key stakeholders
• Lead product improvements and design optimizations, managing the required engineering changes and maintaining accurate technical documentation and master data
• Guide our technical supplier relationships, ensuring the components we use meet our strict quality and performance requirements
• Solve complex technical challenges by leading root cause analyses and implementing robust solutions to ensure operational excellence

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field
• Working experience as a Product Engineer within a manufacturing environment, with a proactive mindset and the ability to quickly understand processes and navigate a growing, changing organization
• Proven experience with engineering change management and a talent for analytical problem-solving, including the ability to simplify complex challenges into actionable steps
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in both English and Bulgarian, with the ability to clearly articulate technical topics to different audiences
• Experience in the sensor industry, project management, or with ERP systems like SAP would be a great advantage
