Job Description

At Danfoss Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Controls (RAC) we are currently looking for a Senior Electronics Design Engineer (m/f/d) Automotive in Hamburg, Germany to join our R&D and Engineering team with focus on automotive thermal management.

Job Responsibilities

Your role will be to take responsibility for specification and development of electronics components, embedded software and validation according to automotive customer requirements. Furthermore, you will execute and coordinate R&D activities within a specific project, including all relevant activities and documentation. 


Along these tasks you work according to automotive standards and closely collaborate with external development partners. You also work closely with different internal stakeholders from Project and Product Management, as well as closely within the R&D and Engineering team in Germany and Denmark. You can expect approximately 10-20 days of travel per year, primarily to customers, partners and suppliers.
 

Background & Skills

For this position you hold a university degree in IT/Computer Science or similar educational background related to software engineering with experience in design of mechatronic/electronic products for automotive systems. You have experience with software development in C++ and Python and software specification towards external development partners. Additionally, we are looking for:

  • Basic experience with LIN bus communication
  • Development of products according to Automotive SPICE requirements
  • Familiar with IATF processes and requirements 
  • Basic project coordinator experience
  • Basic knowledge in PCB layout preferred
  • Innovative and open mind-set with fact-based, quality and result-driven approach
  • Effective communicator with distinct collaboration skills, working across borders and cultures
  • Fluent language skills in English and German
