Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for a 12 hour 2/2/3 Shift ​Maintenance Technician ​to join us at our diverse team in Hopkinsville. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for mechanical repairs of production equipment with the ability to identify and solve problems in a timely organized manner. The person performs a wide range of installation and repair of electrical circuitry/PLC’s and utilizing electrical diagrams and schematics, and in conformance with N.E.C. requirements.  Performs skilled mechanical repairs and troubleshooting electronics on machines.  Extensive knowledge of all CNC equipment. 

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  •   PLC troubleshoot, on-line programming able to up-load and download machine programs and files.
  • Understands the Heat Treat processes, knowledge of all furnace and generator instruments and controls.
  • Leadership skills & training, capable of directing the department as far as work assignments, priority scheduling, ordering parts, and operating in a safe, timely manner.
  • Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains equipment in all areas of the industrial facility. This includes complex electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
  • Understands the technical support manuals.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with outside technical support, mainly, over the telephone troubleshooting.
  • Communicates with the fabrication supervisors and group leaders and responds to machine breakdowns.
  • This person will be capable of representing the department in meeting situations. 

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • High school diploma plus 2 years of vocational school or equivalent required, minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance

  • Basic troubleshooting and ability to make acceptable repairs on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic components on machinery and building
  • HVAC systems, Advanced PLC
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must obtain forklift license
  • Basic knowledge of shop tools and equipment
