Within Electrification and System Drives (ESD), our ambition is to be the preferred decarbonization partner in Marine, Electrification, and Heavy Industries. North America is a Danfoss Drives “Must Win” region and the ESD Division is one of four divisions playing a lead role in its growth journey. 

 

Within ESD Division, there are four respective Business Units: Marine, Electrification, Medium Voltage, and System Drives.

 

The Marine Sales Development Manager plays a key role among the team to develop Marine focused customers and go to market strategies.

Job Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Front line business development, fueling growth at primarily new large and strategic important customers (naval architects/designers, SI’s, ship owners, shipyards, EPC’s & OEM’s) within the United States and Canada.
  • Develop and deliver solutions using available Sales Marketing & Services (SMS), Product Marketing & Development (PMD) resources tailored to value propositions that address customer’s needs.
  • Indirect leadership of cross functional taskforce approach to onboard new customers of scale.
  • Develop sustainable cross functional relationships between Danfoss and customer to secure long term partnerships.
  • Be a driving factor for the Application Development Center (ADC) usage and future needs.
  • Influence vessel electrical system and supporting equipment specification with naval architects, designers, and EPC’s.
  • Proactively educate naval architects, shipyards, and ship owners on the Danfoss Marine offering and product portfolio with the goal of proposing relevant and unique solutions.
  • Articulate strong commercial and technical proposals that speak the language of the customers’ business and pain points
  • Convert digital lead generation into real prospects with an ability to navigate customers’ commercial and technical infrastructure.
  • Identify and develop key stakeholder engagement.
  • Utilize and deploy all available tools, training, and functional expertise to optimize chances of success.
  • Translate customer business and application needs into Danfoss solutions.  
  • Provide updates into Salesforce Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for good forecasting measures.
  • Driving the Marine and Electrification needs first with existing products but also drive to fill product gaps.
  • Up to 60% domestic with limited international travel

Background & Skills

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field (BSEET or BSME)
  • 8+ years’ experience from front line sales preferable from the drives and marine electrification background.
