Job Description

Semikron-Danfoss is looking for a Production Engineer to join us at our Utica, New York location in the US. The Production Engineer will focus on the monitoring and improvement of production activities, will assess current production methods, and suggest efficiency improvements in the ways we work to improve the quality and output of the production line.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess current production methods using lean manufacturing methodologies
• Document the current state of the production line and find potential opportunities for improvements, resulting in a future state plan
• Develop and present plans to improve quality, output, cycle times, etc.
• Execute and monitor suggestions to bring the line from current to future state
• Ensure adherence to specifications and limits defined by engineering and design teams by the production team
• Support in the creation and closure of production deviation reports
• Determine how many operators are needed to run each production line
• Aid in determining line layout and optimization of production flow
• Assist in the final release of production orders, performing last quality checks to confirm the product meets all standards
• Up to 10% international travel

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
• 2-3 years of related  experience 
• Experience with lean manufacturing, value stream mapping
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Familiarity with SAP, or other manufacturing execution systems
• Strong computer skills
• Detail oriented
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Strong computer skills

Compensation Data

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $80,000-$98,000/year. Base salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
