Danfoss is seeking an EMS Box Build Specialist to join our dynamic and growing Electrical Heating team.

In this role you will become part of the Accelerator Division in Danfoss Climate Solutions. This division has recently been created to unleash the full growth and value potential of promising businesses, in a unique and agile environment.

Therefore, we are currently building up the team and this position will be the first to be filled and as such you will have the opportunity to influence how we operate. All under the headline “The heart of a startup with the Power of Danfoss”.

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated colleague, who can work independently in a team environment, possess a strong attention to details, and have solid experience with electronic assembly processes and Box build.

 

The location of this role is in Kolding (Denmark).

We expect you to work out of our local site in Kolding, and for the right candidate there will be some flexibility with working from home.

In this position 50+ travel days per year should be expected, among other things, when implementing new products with our EMS suppliers in EU and Asia and/or supporting in fixing issues on products in current production.

Job Responsibilities

 

As an EMS Box Build Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the production of electronic box builds, ensuring high-quality standards are met, and products are delivered on time.

 

Some of the key tasks will include: 

  • Support with setting up manual and automated assembly techniques, including hand soldering, wire bonding, and component placement
  • Support with securing proper material handling in production including contributing to design for production packaging materials etc.
  • Conduct functional testing of assembled electronic products to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of materials and supplies
  • Support in conversion of BOMs from internal systems to supplier system
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely delivery of products and provide support for production schedules
  • Participate in process improvements and assist in the development of new assembly procedures and methods
  • Lead Capex approval process, if request new fixtures and testers investment
  • Support EMMs in assembly of electronic components according to engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions

Background & Skills

 

To be considered for this role, you should hold a Bachelor’s degree or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or similar, combined with 3+ years of experience working in electronics assembly and box build processes.

Additionally, we are looking for a team member who:

  • Has the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Has experience with automated assembly equipment and tools, such as pick and place machines and reflow ovens
  • Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production schedules
  • Has good communication skills and strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Has experience with SAP
  • Has a proactive approach to all tasks and flexibility to work overtime if needed
  • Is familiar with quality control procedures and ISO 9001 and ideally IATF standards
  • Is familiarity with ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and safety protocols in an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Is fluent in English – speaking and writing
