Job Description

We’re looking for an R&D Specialist to join our innovative Gasketed & Welded Heat Exchangers team within the HEX Division of Danfoss Climate Solutions in Kolding.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to new product development. In this role, you will be key in delivering and maintaining Heat Exchanger designs, focusing on new technologies, product development, and sustaining engineering.

 

You’ll help drive technology development and expand our product portfolio—from defining customer requirements to concept validation and product implementation. You’ll work in a collaborative, cross-functional team, partnering with stakeholders from Engineering, Quality, and Production Technology to shape the future of our business.

Job Responsibilities

  • You will undertake a diverse range of responsibilities focused on developing innovative designs that meet all performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability requirements. This involves a deep understanding of material properties and mechanics, including how different materials respond under various stamping conditions.

  • With your curiosity, you will stay updated on the latest trends and practices in metal stamping processes, enabling innovation and solution development when necessary.

  • Predicting potential sheet metal issues, such as splits, cracks, wrinkles, thickening, and excessive thinning, as well as addressing manufacturing concerns, will also be part of your responsibilities.

  • You will provide development ideas and solutions to the Product Management team.

 

Furthermore, you can look forward to, but not limited to:

  • Innovating, developing, verifying, and implementing new technologies or processes.

  • Conducting detailed studies and providing recommendations to solve manufacturing process issues.

  • Undertaking research to test or analyze the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.

  • Recommending design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions and reduce costs.

Background & Skills

To succeed in this role, extensive experience in New Product Development and Engineering is essential, along with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

 

The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CAD, PPAP, quality management systems, and Microsoft Office programs.

  • In-depth knowledge of stamping processes, die design, and material properties.

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and excellent time management skills.
