Job Description

Danfoss Climate Solutions is looking for an R&D Specialist to join our innovative Gasketed & Welded Heat Exchangers team within the HEX Division in Kolding. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to new product development.

 

In this role, you will be key in delivering and maintaining Heat Exchanger designs, focusing on new technologies, product development, and sustaining engineering. You’ll help drive technology development and expand our product portfolio—from defining customer requirements to concept validation and product implementation. You’ll work in a collaborative, cross-functional team, partnering with stakeholders from Engineering, Quality, and Production Technology to shape the future of our business.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • You will undertake a diverse range of responsibilities, focusing on developing innovative designs that meet performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability requirements. This involves a deep understanding of material properties and mechanics, particularly how different materials respond under various stamping conditions.

  • Develop new features and heat exchanger variants within the Danfoss GWHE portfolio.

  • Support the creation of design standards and standard operating procedures for engineering teams.

 

Additionally, but not limited to, you can look forward to:

  • Establishing and maintaining structured guidelines for frame integral components.

  • Implementing changes in PDM systems.

  • Conducting detailed studies and providing recommendations for solving manufacturing process issues.

  • Conducting research to test or analyze the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.

  • Recommending design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions and reduce costs.

Background & Skills

To succeed in this role, extensive experience in New Product Development and Engineering is essential, along with a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

 

The ideal candidate will also possess the following qualifications:

  • Proficiency in CAD, PPAP, quality management systems, and Microsoft Office programs.

  • In-depth knowledge of ASME, EN, DNV, and other pressure vessel standards.

  • Keeping up to date with relevant norms and regulations.

  • Strong engineering fundamentals and excellent time management skills.
