The Impact You'll Make
As our Senior Customer Success Engineer – District Heating Networks, you’ll play a key role in driving the green energy transition in district heating by delivering and supporting Leanheat® Network, our thermo-hydraulic network modelling and online network model product, as part of the Leanheat® Software Suite & Services.
Your impact? You’ll help utilities understand and operate their networks with confidence. By building and calibrating hydraulic models, commissioning online models connected to live SCADA data, and supporting customers in daily operation, you’ll turn network physics into better operating decisions – lower temperatures, lower losses and more reliable supply.
You’ll be the bridge between our partners, customer utilities and our development team. You’ll lead the technical discussions, translate customer needs into clear requirements with business impact, and help us decide what matters most. Over time, you’ll extend your scope from the network to the wider energy system – including forecasting and energy economics optimisation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead Leanheat® Network implementations end to end – from kickoff, hydraulic model build and calibration, and online model commissioning, to training, handover and support in daily operation
- Plan and manage customer projects, including scope, timeline, dependencies, risks and status communication with customers and partners
- Set up and verify SCADA data flows in and out of the online model – real-time measurements, historical data and setpoints – together with customers and system integrators
- Lead technical discussions with partners, end customers and our development team, and explain complex hydraulic and data topics in plain language
- Handle support requests under SSMA terms, in English and within agreed business hours, both as 3rd-level support to system integrators and as full support in direct customer contracts. Acknowledge requests, set expected handling times and keep customers informed of progress and delays
- Reproduce reported issues and classify them by type (bug, user story, clarification, misunderstanding, missing facility, out of scope) and by severity (Critical, High, Medium, Low), in line with SSMA response commitments
- Translate customer needs and reported issues into clear development requirements and register them in DevOps. Verify and test fixes before releasing patches or updates to customers or system integrators
- Enable system integrators through technical coaching and by contributing to training and certification, in cooperation with the Customer Success team
- Handle customer data and remote system access in line with applicable data processing agreements
- Support pre-sales with product introductions, technical scoping and effort estimates
- Continuously share knowledge to improve how we deliver Leanheat® solutions tailored to real operational needs
What We're Looking For
- Solid knowledge of district heating systems and hydraulics
- Hands-on experience with hydraulic or thermo-hydraulic modelling of real district heating networks, including calibration against measured data, using Leanheat® Network, Termis or similar tools
- Proven ability to deploy, configure and troubleshoot complex software in operational environments. Solid understanding of SCADA data flows and common interfaces such as OPC UA, SQL or historian APIs
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including querying, data validation and troubleshootin
- Proven experience managing customer implementation projects from kickoff to handover
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a district heating utility, energy consultancy, software vendor or similar organisation. Candidates with 3+ years and exceptionally strong technical skills are also welcome to apply
- Educational background in mechanical, energy or thermal engineering, or another relevant field
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage customers, partners and developers, and to balance attention to detail with the bigger picture
- Willingness and capability to extend your expertise from the network to the system level, including energy forecasting and energy economics optimisation in the long run
- Fluency in English
