Job Description

Danfoss Climate Solutions is looking for a forward-thinking and action-driven Senior System Solution Designer for cooling & heating systems, including thermal management. This role offers an exhilarating and demanding opportunity where you will spearhead the development and design of eco-friendly applications & systems to realize a carbon-neutral application/system with our customers.

As our Senior System Solution Designer, you will join the Danfoss Climate Solution Applications, Systems, and Technology organization, reporting directly to the Head of System Solutions and Technology in Climate Solutions.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Primary focus on system integration, consolidating existing product portfolio to enable the customer to realize a carbon-neutral future. 
  • Design, calculation, digitize, and analyze cooling and heating system solutions with focus on Data center Systems. 
  • Develop platforms, subsystems, and modules to create application and system solutions.
  • Develop prototypes and maintain a comprehensive understanding of system integration and testing. 
  • Ensure maximum optimization of the system (cost, consumption, efficiency, and operation). 
  • Translate application and system into technical product requirements. 
  • Participate in comparative studies of various thermal management systems and cooling/heating systems. 
  • Develop modules, subsystem, and system-level models to enhance the team’s ability to expedite design, simulation, implementation, and testing activities. 
  • Collaborate with customers, internal and external partners, universities, and start-up companies. 
  • Deep system knowledge for differentiated innovative solutions.

You should anticipate approximately 20 days of travel per year. 

Background & Skills

We are seeking a self-motivated and System engineer who can foster growth and innovation, possesses a creative mindset, and has a structured and execution-oriented approach.

To be considered for this position, you should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or a similar field, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of experience in System Engineering or System Design with solid hands-on skills and a commercial focus. You should have knowledge and experience in the design, development, simulation, digitization, and validation of Thermal Management, Cooling, and Heating Systems.

Experience working in a matrix environment is beneficial, and you should also have a proven history of collaboration with external partners and offshoring of design and development activities.

Other requirements include: 

  • Fluency in English. 
  • Proficient design skills in CAD systems and PDMs. 
  • Excellent team spirit, communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Able to structure and organize work efficiently and effectively. 
  • Strong analytical skills, hands-on mentality. 
  • Creativity and the ability to work independently. 
  • Structured problem-solving and decision-making ability. 
  • A proven track record of using quality tools to ensure a zero-defect approach to system concepts. 
  • Experience with the design, simulation, verification, and validation of system solutions is considered a plus.
