We now have an opportunity to recruit a Senior Functional Safety Engineer to join our motivated and successful team based in Finland.
Job Responsibilities
In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for the electrification of on and off-highway vehicles through embedded software development. In this position you will:
• Participate in planning and implementing functional safety activities in all the parts of the safety life cycle of the project.
• Guide the creation of functional safety concept and technical safety concept including defining the functional safety requirements and technical safety requirements of the product.
• Lead the execution of safety analyses.
• Participate in technical reviews.
• Help to create documents required by ISO 26262.
• Assist in planning and executing safety verification and validation activities.
• Support in successful completion of required safety confirmation reviews, assessments and audits.
• Help to maintain and reinforce a good safety culture.
Background & Skills
We would expect you to demonstrate:
• B.Sc. or equivalent in suitable field (e.g. software engineering, electrical engineering, vehicle technology) with experience in functional safety.
• Excellent knowledge of functional safety methodology and standards (ISO 26262).
• Experience with performing safety analyses (FMEDA, SFMEA, DFA, FTA etc.)
• Good understanding of requirements management, quality management and product development life cycle processes.
• Basic understanding of software and hardware development for automotive domain.
• Being an effective team player, yet not afraid of working independently or taking responsibility.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
Advantageous would be:
• M.Sc. or D.Sc. in suitable field (e.g. software engineering, electrical engineering, vehicle technology) with experience in functional safety for automotive projects.
• Understanding of cyber security requirements in the automotive environment (especially ISO 21434).
• Experience in Safety of the Intended Functionality (ISO 21448).
• Understanding of power electronic converters and electric traction systems.
