Job Description

Daikin-Sauer-Danfoss (DSD) is a global leader in hydraulic transmissions serving world-renowned Japanese manufacturers and the global market. The company is a Joint Venture formed by Daikin Oil Hydraulics and Danfoss Power Solutions (DPS) and is based in the Daikin campus in Yodogawa.

 

The Daikin-Sauer-Danfoss joint venture Liaison Manager provides on-site support for Danfoss' interests in the Joint Venture organization. The role monitors that the Joint Venture is achieving the board approved budget and implementing the board approved strategy through financial and operational engagement. They are also responsible for assuring the JV complies with the JV agreement, representing Danfoss Power Solutions' interests, and working as a facilitator and intermediary to support areas of cooperation.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Support implementation of strategic plan for business development of DSD globally, providing support for the full value chain of the global JV business
  • Act as a bridge between the two parents of the JV, proactively build effective cooperation and communication
  • Support DPS colleagues outside Japan in understanding the Japanese business context and foster the culture of a global mindset in DSD                  
  • Work closely with DSD leadership to ensure the DSD business objectives and KPIs are met and the JV complies with the board approved budget, including fixed and variable expense oversight   
  • Support active projects by sharing the DSD viewpoint into DPS (and vice versa) on projects and priorities and participate in global initiatives       
  • Engage in business case development and approval process for capital expenditures in the JV per the Delegation of Power standard
  • Assure development and implementation of the product roadmap in coordination with the DPS Medium Power Business Unit and DSD strategic plans
  • Assure coordination between Danfoss and DSD functional areas, e.g. Procurement, Engineering, IT, BU-Sales, Supply Chain
  • Assure the DSD-JV complies to the JV agreement with respect to operational and financial execution of Board approved strategic plans
  • Support Board meeting preparation as needed, and follow-up on agreed action items from the DSD Board

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing business working in operations, finance or strategy functions
  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering
  • Experience working in a global business across cultures
  • Experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Fluent Japanese language skills and English proficiency, and good communication skills
  • Understanding of financial management principles and strategic mindset
