Coordinate and schedule outbound freight with carriers, prepare proper shipping documentation for each order. Package, kit and/or ship products and materials, audit materials and processes for quality. Ensure inventory integrity, and perform a variety of material handling and data entry activities.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Schedule outbound freight pick-up with carriers for domestic and international shipments.
- Create shipping documentation for all shipments; review, prioritize and consolidate orders.
- Efficiently and safely perform a variety of material handling activities including loading/unloading freight.
- Package, label, move, and complete required documentation for domestic and international shipments.
- Perform audit, inventory location assignments, and cycle counting to maintain inventory accuracy, and perform cell housekeeping duties on each shift along with provisional standards meeting 5-S requirements.
- Perform procedures necessary to ensure compliance with the Danfoss Safety Process and ensure the personal safety of the incumbent including eye safety, hearing conservation, machine safety guards, ergonomic movement, lock out/tag out, MSDS procedures, and OHSA regulations. *
- Assist in maintaining an atmosphere of continuous improvement and team efforts for accomplishing departmental and plant goals.
- Meet standards as communicated by supervisor and perform other related duties and activities as assigned by supervisor.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated basic computer data entry skills.
- Eight (8) to ten (10) months distribution experience, similar to the packaging/shipping/receiving activities typically performed at the Danfoss/Shawnee plant.
- Demonstrated ability to perform self-directed work with a minimum of supervision, and interact positively with other employees in a team oriented environment.
- Experience in the operation of mechanized material handling equipment and/or willingness and ability to complete and pass training/licensing course within first week in this classification.
- A satisfactory record of recent job performance (for internal candidates, satisfactory performance would be indicated by a rating of 3 or higher on the most recent evaluation).
- Ability to read, understand and effectively apply information contained in all applicable documents.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime (specifically at the end of each shift if shipments due that day are not complete and the last three days of each month), weekends and any shift as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit and/or walk on a hard surface as well as safely bend, stoop, reach, climb steps and use ladder up to eight (8) hours per day, occasionally up to 12 hours per day.*
- Vision to accurately read all related distribution documents and computer monitor screens.*
- Ability to lift 50-75 pounds occasionally and up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis.*
