Job Description

Danfoss Drives is looking for an engaged leader for our Planning Team!  The Planning Manager manages our commercial and production planning team, develops the overall production plans for the factory through the SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) process, and is responsible for our delivery service metrics (reliability and availability).  This role reports to the Senior Director of Operations and works out of our Loves Park, IL, USA factory.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 
    
•    Developing production plans through the SIOP process, engaging production, Sales, and other functions as necessary
•    Manage and lead our team of commercial coordinators, whose function is an internal customer service role to our other Danfoss entities around the world
•    Manage and lead our team of planners – ensure consistency in utilizing best practices for planning processes
•    Identify improvements in the processes related to planning to increase delivery service, optimize inventory, or increase the efficiency of the planning team
•    Interface with multiple functions as needed to address or escalate issues affecting production
•    Generate and publish various reports related to production and delivery service
•    Interface with customers on occasion to address concerns, collaboration, or other activities
•    Some travel may be required on an infrequent basis – 5 or less trips per year
 

 

Job Scope 
•    Budget responsible for 1 or more cost centers
•    People leadership of our commercial and planning teams

Background & Skills

Minimum Qualifications
•    4-year degree is required, ideally in the field of operations management or similar
•    5 years of planning experience, 3 years of leadership experience

 

Preferred Qualifications 
•    APICS certification preferred (CPIM or CSCP or both)
•    Experience in a multi-national company with a matrix environment

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 
•    Strong analytical skills required
•    Strong skills in Microsoft Office tools, mainly Excel and PowerPoint
•    Strong in ERP and MES systems – SAP preferred
•    Strong communication skills and process improvement experience
•    Must have a high customer service focus
