Danfoss Drives is currently looking for our next Senior Business Development Manager - Indirect Channel.  North America is one of Danfoss Drives “High Growth Regions”. We are THE leading manufacturer of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) with more than 30m Drives manufactured globally. We are seeking an experienced Sales Development Manager with skills to develop business and grow our core Industrial verticals, such as Food and Beverage, Chemical Oil and Gas and Heavy Industry. The SDM will contribute to driving a growth transformation by focusing on end users, large Industrial OEM, Engineering Firms (EPCs) and System Integrators.

The Senior Business Development Manager for Indirect Channel reports directly to the Director of Enterprise Strategy and is locate in the USA or Canada with preference to Illinois or Wisconsin. Their duties would include developing and supporting the implementation of our indirect channel strategy. This would include challenging decisions relating to the indirect channel, tracking channel partner development, and supporting/developing our indirect channel management team as they engage in partner review meetings and partner development activities. 

Job Responsibilities

 

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

 

  • Develop and manage indirect channel partner strategy by developing gap analysis, heat maps, and preferred partner profiles by key market segment.
  • Coordinate and manage indirect channel partner strategy implementation by evaluating partner targets to see they best fit our strategy and developing concepts for tracking partner development all while considering the fit with our global partner management framework and the fit across divisions.
  • Support our growth in indirect sales by finding ways to enhance our value proposition to partners and improve our indirect channel sales team competence.
  • Monitor indirect channel sales and competence growth as well as partner and internal feedback to suggest course corrections (partner mix/strategy/program).
  • Willingness to 25-35% monthly to meet with key partners and colleagues (including international travel).

Required (basic) qualifications

  • 4-yr. Degree: Business, Engineering, Marketing or equivalent experience
  • 5+ yrs. of work experience in a business-to-business (B2B) environment

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience in the business-to-business (B2B) sales process.
  • Experience with indirect sales channel coordination of independent partner networks, e.g. – distribution, representatives, etc.
  • Background supporting the sales cycle of variable frequency drives or similar automation equipment.
