The Manufacturing Production Manufacturing Lead operates production equipment to manufacture hydraulic hose. Additionally, the Manufacturing Lead will serve as the direct liaison between site leadership and the shift teammates. The Manufacturing Lead will be responsible for providing real time oversight and support to operators during their assigned shift and will be responsible for filling in during the absence of a supervisor on that shift.
The job reports to the shift Manufacturing Supervisor. This is a 1st Shift position, working Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with occasional Saturday overtime.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Maintaining satisfactory job performance in the Production Operator role while maintaining a favorable attendance standing.
- Own Danfoss Business Systems (DBS) boards and reporting for the assigned shift. Host the daily PMS board meetings and provide direction to this process. Ensure Cell information and performance metrics are updated in real time and daily to ensure accuracy of reporting and performance visibility across site.
- Be the point of contact for operators on the assigned shift. Support operators in making determinations regarding capacity, quality, scheduling, changeovers, and other directives provided by site leadership.
- Provide direction to operators on assigned shift regarding scheduling and oversight of breaks and lunches.
- Ensure assigned Cell is maintaining good 5S criteria and general housekeeping standards (Daily E-Stop checks, 5S audits, 5S cleaning tasks).
- Cross Train to other machines/equipment to better position the plant for success.
- Communicate daily with Shift Supervisor on items related to factory performance. Provide oversight to Gemba reporting, and interrupter tracking to provide real time information to site leadership.
What We're Looking For
Required (Basic) Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft applications (skills assessment will be required)
- Must not have any corrective actions beyond a verbal warning (performance/quality/attendance) in the last 12 months
Preferred Qualifications
- One year or more manufacturing experience (lead experience preferred)
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work successfully in team environment, and ability to lead and make decisions
- Good organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and be flexible in a fast-paced environment
Job Criteria
- In addition to machine operations, maintains a safe, clean and orderly work environment through effective housekeeping, 5S and TPM practices. Job performance measures include safety, quality, inventory, on time delivery and productivity.
- Other duties as assigned by site leadership.
Physical Requirements and Additional Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Employees are frequently required to walk, talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch, as well as lift up to 35 pounds in a safe manner and push/pull reels of hose. *While performing the duties of this job the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is at a level the company requires hearing protection. The employee must be physically able to wear appropriate PPE.

- Attendance: High expectations for timeliness and communication of absences for preapproval. Ability to work overtime on some Saturdays.
