The Impact You'll Make

Danfoss Fluid Conveyance is seeking a Senior Test Technician to join our Test Laboratory team in Maumee, Ohio. This position plays a critical role in supporting the testing and validation of fluid conveyance products.

 

The Senior Test Technician is responsible for independently conducting hydraulic testing, troubleshooting laboratory equipment and control systems, collecting and documenting test data, and ensuring all testing activities are completed safely and accurately. This role also supports continuous improvement initiatives and collaborates with engineers to enhance laboratory capabilities and testing infrastructure.

What You’ll Be Doing

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Perform hydraulic and fluid conveyance product testing in accordance with engineering specifications, industry standards, and established laboratory procedures.
  • Set up, operate, adjust, and maintain test equipment and apparatus to ensure accurate and repeatable test results.
  • Collect, analyze, and document performance data, preparing Engineering Test Reports for internal and external customers.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, electro-mechanical, PLC, instrumentation, and control system issues, including sensors, actuators, motors, drives, and communication networks.
  • Support engineers in the design, construction, and implementation of upgrades to hydraulic test systems, electrical controls, and laboratory infrastructure.
  • Participate in continuous improvement, laboratory modernization, safety, and 6S initiatives while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What We're Looking For

Required (Basic) Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a technical, industrial, laboratory, manufacturing, testing, maintenance, or related environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, engineering specifications, and testing procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate of Science degree or equivalent technical education from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, fluid power systems, or hydraulic test equipment.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience using LabVIEW, data acquisition software, or similar test platforms.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, electrical safety standards, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Experience working within a testing laboratory or product validation environment.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset and strong commitment to safety.
