The Impact You'll Make
As our Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in developing and integrating compressor designs that expand our product portfolio and support new technology platforms in turbomachinery and related mechatronic systems.
Your impact? You’ll help translate requirements into robust, manufacturable designs by delivering accurate 3D models and 2D drawings, aligning early with manufacturing and suppliers, and supporting qualification activities so our products meet performance, reliability, safety, and compliance expectations.
You’ll collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, Procurement, and suppliers, and take ownership of design deliverables and documentation through project stage gates, helping us move toward a more reliable and efficient product development process.
This is an in-office role based at our Turbocor Global Headquarters in Tallahassee, FL
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define requirements and support implementation of integrated compressor designs from concept through release
- Create and maintain 3D models and 2D detail drawings, including clear drawing requirements and GD&T
- Collaborate with manufacturing, procurement, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability, assembly feasibility, and serviceability
- Deliver design documentation aligned to project stage gates and product lifecycle processes
- Support design qualification/testing activities and help ensure products align with applicable safety and environmental expectations (e.g., UL/CE and ISO system support)
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
- Proficiency in 3D CAD with the ability to produce production-quality models and drawings (NX preferred)
- 1+ years of experience in product development engineering, with a working understanding of materials, manufacturing, and assembly methods
- Working knowledge of Design for Manufacturing and GD&T/dimensional controls, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated teammate with clear written and verbal communication skills
