Job Description

Danfoss in Milwaukee, WI is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern for Summer 2025. The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the engineering team on the design and development of new enclosed drive (panel) products and existing panel product maintenance in a cross functional team setting.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Assist the engineering team on preparing designs, specifications, bills of material, analysis, and recommendations for development of new and/or existing enclosed drive products and panels.
  • Participate in the construction and testing of prototype products.
  • Conduct research that tests or analyzes the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
  • Confer with engineers or other personnel on implementing operating procedures, resolving system malfunctions, or providing technical information.
  • Assist with organizing and maintaining records pertinent to each project in the form of timelines, sketches, drawings, material specifications, etc.
  • Research and recommend design modifications to eliminate potential malfunctions and to reduce costs.
  • Assist engineering team with researching, designing, and evaluating mechanical and electromechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles.

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Candidates must be located within 50 miles of the work location.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Proficiency in Creo (ProE) or other 3D CAD systems a plus.
  • Strong time management and project management skills.
