Summary:
Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to lead maintenance and facility responsibilities in a growing manufacturing environment? Our Danfoss Drives facility in Milwaukee, Wisconsin is looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician to be part of an operations team that works closely with eighty employees to achieve key performance indicators for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
As the Senior Maintenance Technician, your main responsibilities will be to create, develop and implement necessary projects and programs to maintain a safe, orderly, and clean facility and grounds. You will also be responsible for supporting production processes by ensuring all equipment, tools and machinery are available and working properly.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and support continuous improvement initiatives and provide effective solutions to help the plant reach productivity and quality targets.
- Manage, and adjust as needed, critical spare parts inventory for all production equipment.
- Function as liaison between the plant and Global Services to maintain the facility and all applicable service providers.
- Oversee all contractors onsite that provide services to Danfoss. Ensure they are properly qualified, trained and perform quality work on-site.
- Maintain all equipment including service contracts and relationships with providers to ensure equipment is functioning properly, maintained effectively, and removed from service when needed.
- Manage predictive and preventive maintenance system for facility, grounds and production equipment and adjust as needed to mitigate downtime.
- Manage maintenance expenses by establishing capital expenditure plan, managing vendor services, ensuring all agreed upon work is complete, and maintaining budget for production and facility supplies.
- Respond promptly to equipment or machine issues impacting production and troubleshoot with maintenance technician to find effective solutions.
- Design tools, fixtures, and safety devices for production equipment.
- Actively participate on the environmental, health and safety (EH&S) committee and support the plant in achieving EH&S objectives and targets.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with Danfoss standards.
Background & Skills
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent level of knowledge and experience.
- Five plus years’ experience working in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong people skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
- Solid time management and project management skills and the ability to organize and plan effectively in developing effective systems and processes.
- Strong persuasive skills and the ability to respectfully challenge the status quo.
- Experience in using several types of manufacturing machinery and tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external points of contact.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose a problem and develop a solution quickly and efficiently.
- Strong computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office applications.
