The Impact You'll Make

 

The Technical Support Representative provides technical support to distributors and customers for the full range of Danfoss Fluid Conveyance products, including hoses, fittings, connectors, and assembly equipment. This role analyzes product specifications and customer applications to identify and recommend effective solutions. Responsibilities include supporting competitor product conversions and maintaining technical support databases and related documentation. The position collaborates closely with Sales, Account Management, Customer Service, Quality, Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Product Management teams to deliver responsive, world-class customer support that strengthens Danfoss's competitive advantage. The Technical Support Representative manages customer requests, determines technical solutions, and drives a culture of continuous improvement across products, systems, and customer interactions.

What You’ll Be Doing

 

  • Ability to analyze and interpret customer product inquiries quickly, determine and effectively communicate potential solutions.
  • Researching information of the requested products and the customer’s application.  Danfoss information may be available through literature, engineering documents, or contacts within the company.
  • Ability to manage responses to multiple inquiries at one time and present requesters with solutions in a timely manner.
  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat. 
  • Tracks and documents inquiries and subsequent solutions into a group database for purposes of tracking key metrics and sharing technical information.
  • Establishes key contacts within the organization as product / technical support resources. Mentors, motivates and coaches team members; acts as an employee advocate.
  • Stays current on Danfoss products and develops expertise in Fluid Conveyance products and capabilities to aid the overall strength of the group.
  • Acts as a technical resource within Danfoss Hydraulics for supporting and training purposes.
  • Beyond the immediate response to inquiries, provides training and guidance to customers for their technical support needs.
  • Advises user of correct procedures and product usage. 
  • Provides feedback to other Danfoss functions including Marketing, Sales, Field Services and Communications related to Danfoss products.
  • Accumulates and evaluates data pertaining to products at all necessary levels of use and provides solutions to customers and the Danfoss Fluid Conveyance division.
  • Responsible for sales and service at all levels of need down to the end user. Serves as customer contact once product is shipped from Hydraulics division regarding service, trouble shooting and repair.
  • Promotes customer satisfaction and achieves cycle time reduction through team-based problem-solving. Actively participates in cross-functional company-wide teams to assist in process improvements, business system enhancements and process standardization.
  • Prepares comprehensive weekly or monthly summaries.

What We're Looking For

 

Required (basic) qualifications

  • Associate and/or Bachelor of Science degree in technical field from accredited university.
  • Technical experience related to hydraulics.
  • Experience reading engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of technical experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Candidates within a 50-mile radius of Eden Prairie, MN preferred.

 

Preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • CFPS/CFPE certification.
  • Minimum Two to three (2-3) years of experience.
  • Broad range of computer skills associated with Salesforce OneCRM, SAP, Teamcenter, Excel spreadsheets, data analytics, and webinar tools.
