Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following. 

  • Guide development of autonomy software blocks and systems for the Danfoss Autonomous Control Library using the PLUS+1 GUIDE Danfoss graphical programming tool
  • Oversee the research, development, implementation, and testing of various autonomy projects in the PLUS+1 ecosystem involving robotics concepts (e.g., Motion Planning, Navigation, Machine Learning on off-highway autonomous vehicles)
  • Lead customer projects (visits, development, and troubleshooting/ testing)
  • Guide and train colleagues/sales engineers in robotics and autonomous off-highway vehicles, related concepts, and library software blocks
  • Prototype small-scale autonomous robots for testing and troubleshooting software block concepts
  • Responsibilities also include development of specifications, machine start-ups at customer sites, and participate in design reviews, FMEAs, Safety Analysis and Hazard and Risk Assessments

Background & Skills

The ideal candidate possesses these skills. 

  • Master’s degree in Robotics Engineering or Mechatronics/Automation Engineering
  • 3 years experience with programming language (e.g., C, C++, Python, MATLAB); design/simulation software (e.g., CATIA, Solidworks, AutoCAD); Autonomous Machines/ Vehicles concepts (e.g., Motion Planning, Robot Controls, Robot Dynamics, Navigation, Perception, Machine Learning, Robotic Systems); ROS, Gazebo, Rviz, MoveIT, OpenCV; version control (e.g., Git, SVN); and sensors (e.g., LiDARs, Radars, Cameras, GNSS, IMUs); graphical software programming (e.g., PLUS+1 GUIDE, LabVIEW, MathWorks- Simulink) and Autonomous Software Development
  • 2 year experience in an agile/scrum development environment
  • Experience may be gained concurrently
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization
