The Impact You'll Make

Are you ready to shape the future of autonomous technology in heavy machinery?

Join our team and take a leading role in designing and developing the cutting-edge autonomous control systems that are transforming the agriculture, mining, construction, and industrial sectors. In this role, you will be at the forefront of innovation, creating solutions that make off-highway machinery safer, more efficient, and more productive. Your work will directly impact on our customers' success and drive the future of autonomous vehicle technology.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Architect and Build Autonomous Systems: You will be a key contributor in developing and implementing sophisticated autonomous control systems for a wide range of off-highway vehicles, including agricultural equipment, mining trucks, and airport material handlers. Using ROS2 and advanced robotics frameworks, you'll work alongside other engineers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Design and Optimize Complex Algorithms: Sharpen your skills by designing and refining complex algorithms in C and C++ for sensor fusion, path planning, and vehicle navigation. You'll integrate data from LiDAR, cameras, and GNSS/GPS systems, with opportunities to explore AI and machine learning applications.
  • Partner with Our Customers: Travel to customer sites to deploy, fine-tune, and validate our autonomous systems. You'll work hands-on to ensure our technology seamlessly integrates with their existing vehicle platforms and meets their unique operational needs.
  • Bridge Software and Hardware: Develop embedded control solutions using Danfoss's proprietary PLUS+1 GUIDE programming language. You will be the crucial link between high-level autonomy algorithms and low-level hardware control, working with CAN bus and other vehicle communication protocols.
  • Ensure System Reliability and Safety: Uphold the highest standards of performance and safety by rigorously testing, analyzing data, and iteratively improving our control algorithms. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with functional safety standards like (ISO 13849/25119).

What We're Looking For

  • Expertise in Robotics Development: Proven experience in architecting and implementing autonomous navigation and control systems using ROS2.
  • Strong Programming Skills: A high level of proficiency in C and C++ with a track record of developing complex performance-critical algorithms in a Linux environment.
  • Deep Understanding of Vehicle Systems: A solid grasp of vehicle dynamics, control systems, hydraulics, electronic microcontrollers, and CAN bus protocols.
  • Sensor Fusion and Perception Experience: Hands-on experience with perception and navigation sensors (LiDAR, cameras, GNSS/GPS) and the algorithms to process their data.
  • Customer-Focused Mindset: Excellent communication and time management skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with customers during on-site implementations.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of agricultural, construction, or mining equipment and the unique challenges of off-highway environments.
  • Commitment to Safety: A strong understanding of and willingness to develop safety-critical autonomous systems in accordance with functional safety standards (ISO 13849/25119).
