The Impact You'll Make
Danfoss is proud to be at the forefront of driving a global transformation in digital and electric solutions that increase productivity and energy efficiency. We are truly passionate about investment, and innovation, as we continue to support our customers' journey towards a greener and lower-carbon future. Our Editron business unit is leading the electrification revolution, specializing in hybrid and electric powertrain systems for the off-highway, on-highway and marine markets.
As Project Manager, you will lead complex new product development programs for electric and hybrid powertrain solutions. You will guide international, cross-functional teams from concept through design, verification and validation, industrialization, production launch, and post-launch stabilization.
You will translate customer and business needs into aligned project priorities across engineering, product management, supply chain, quality, and manufacturing, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to agreed quality and performance targets.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, governance, success criteria, and team responsibilities in line with the approved business case and customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain an integrated NPD plan covering product development, prototype builds, verification and validation, industrialization, supplier readiness, and production launch.
- Lead execution through the Danfoss Product Development Process, ensuring milestones, design reviews, quality gates, and release criteria are achieved.
- Manage project budgets, resources, and forecasts; implement corrective actions when targets are at risk.
- Lead and motivate geographically distributed, cross-functional teams, fostering accountability, collaboration, and timely decision-making.
- Identify and manage technical, commercial, supply-chain, resource, quality, and schedule risks, with clear mitigation and escalation plans.
- Ensure new products comply with applicable quality systems, cybersecurity and functional-safety expectations, and relevant regulations and standards.
- Maintain effective communication and relationships with customers, suppliers, project teams, and senior stakeholders throughout the NPD lifecycle.
- Track schedule, cost, quality, risk, technical maturity, and launch readiness; provide concise status reports and decision proposals to governance forums.
- Capture and apply lessons learned to improve future electrification NPD programs.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; an engineering discipline is preferred.
- At least five years of project management experience, including responsibility for complex new product development from concept through production launch.
- Project management certification or training, such as IPMA Level C/B, PMP, or equivalent, is preferred.
- Experience with PLM, requirements-management, and ERP tools such as Teamcenter, Polarion, and SAP.
- Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts across cultures and functions in a matrix organization.
- Strong understanding of NPD governance, stage-gate decision-making, and product-launch controls.
- Technical knowledge of electrification technologies is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex project information clearly to technical teams and senior management.
