The Impact You'll Make
As our Principal Test Engineer, Software Platforms (m/f/d), you will define how quality is built, verified, and demonstrated for PLUS+1 OS, a strategic software platform that powers multiple products across Danfoss Power Solutions. Rather than owning testing for a single product, you will shape the quality approach for an entire software ecosystem that influences teams, technologies, and customers globally.
This is a unique opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with strategic influence. As the company’s leading test and quality expert for the platform, you will establish scalable testing practices, strengthen release confidence, and help product teams accelerate innovation while managing quality, cybersecurity, and compliance risks.
Success in this role means creating a testing strategy that enables predictable releases, improves quality transparency, supports regulatory readiness, and allows multiple product teams to confidently build on a common platform foundation.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Define and evolve the end-to-end test strategy for PLUS+1 OS, enabling scalable quality assurance, risk-based verification, and release readiness across the platform ecosystem.
- Advance testing excellence by improving automation, integration testing, quality metrics, and reporting capabilities that provide clear visibility into product quality and release risk.
- Enable regulatory and cybersecurity compliance by ensuring testing activities generate the evidence, traceability, and validation required for evolving industry regulations and standards.
- Guide product teams in understanding platform-level coverage, identifying integration risks, and establishing effective product-specific verification strategies.
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders across engineering, cybersecurity, product management, and business teams to align on quality objectives, priorities, and release decisions.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing test strategies for complex software products, platforms, or large-scale development programs.
- Great expertise in software quality engineering, verification and validation, risk-based testing, and release readiness practices.
- Experience working with test automation, continuous integration environments, and modern software development methodologies.
- Ability to influence technical and business stakeholders across organizational boundaries without formal authority.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex quality topics into clear recommendations and decisions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with embedded software, real-time systems, controller software, or platform-based product development.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity verification, compliance-driven testing, or regulated software environments.
- Familiarity with standards and regulatory frameworks such as the Cyber Resilience Act, Machinery Regulation, IEC 61508, ISO 21434, or similar.
- Experience supporting multiple product teams that consume a shared software platform.
What You'll Get from Us
This is an opportunity to play a defining role in the future of software quality at Danfoss. You will help establish the quality strategy for a platform that is becoming increasingly critical to the next generation of intelligent mobile machines and digital solutions.
You will work with highly skilled experts across software engineering, systems architecture, cybersecurity, and product development while expanding your own influence as a recognized technical leader. The role offers significant visibility, the ability to shape strategic decisions, and the freedom to introduce new ideas, methodologies, and best practices.
We foster a collaborative and inclusive culture where learning, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement are encouraged. You will have opportunities for professional growth while contributing to technology that helps drive more productive and sustainable industries.
Location: Preferred location is Neumünster, Germany, with flexibility to consider other Danfoss Power Solutions locations for the right candidate. Hybrid working arrangements may be available depending on location.
