Then you could be the Mechanical Design Engineer we are looking for at Danfoss High Pressure Pumps (HPP). Amongst our key products are pumps used in equipment for reverse osmosis, dust and fire suppression, humidification and gas turbines. Please note that you will have to be present in Nordborg, Denmark most of the working week. 

Job Responsibilities

As Mechanical Design Engineer at HPP you will be involved in a wide variety of task. This includes conceptual work, draft of possible design solutions, detailed design, theoretical calculations as well as preparation and testing of prototypes, i.e., the full value chain of Product Maintenance and Development. You will be engineering completely new product variants and customer adaptations, not losing focus on high performing and cost-effective solutions.

 

Other key responsibilities will be:
 

  • Maintenance of existing products and help solve critical quality issues
  • Lead the design and test of mechanical components and parts in accordance with international standards and regulations, and our internal requirements
  • Contribute with New Product Ideas to help generate the new product pipeline
  • Participate in new product development projects
  • Document the designs and results in design guidelines and journals to support knowledge build up and secure required document control
  • Conduct risk analysis and FMEA

 

In this role you should expect to be on site in Nordborg at least 3-4 days a week. 

Background & Skills

You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering and knowledge of mechanical design, preferably in fluid mechanic products (hydraulic design). You have working experience as a design engineer – preferably pumps or similar. You are familiar with SAP and 3D CAD tools. You will have many contacts both across the organisation and to suppliers/customers; consequently, you need to be open minded with a positive attitude and a cross functional mindset. You are proficient in written and spoken English. Danish is an advantage.
